Yes absolutely if you prefer cream cheese frosting ,they will taste great.
The cookies will stay fresh at room temperature in an air tight container for several days.
The recipe is tested with salted butter and personally find it much more flavorful. If using unsalted butter, you should add ½ tsp. of salt to the recipe.

Butter Cream Frosting
- Butter (softened)
- Powdered Sugar
- Vanilla Extract

- Food Coloring
- Sprinkles
Gather ingredients for cookies.
Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.
Whisk together dry ingredients.
Mixing the dry into the wet ingredients.
Spread dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes.

Ingredients
Sugar Cookies
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup salted butter softened
- 5 cups all purpose flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Butter Cream Frosting
- 1 cup butter softened
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp. heavy cream
- food coloring and sprinkles
Instructions
Cookies
- Pre-heat oven to 350°-Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray (13 x 18)
- In a mixing bowl ,using an electric mixer beat butter and sugar until smooth (3-4 minutes)
- Next add eggs one at a time mixing after each egg , add vanilla , mix well
- In a separate bowl , whisk together dry ingredients -flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet and combine well
- Spread on prepared baking sheet
- Bake 15-18 minutes until light golden brown. Cool before frosting
Buttercream Frosting
- With a hand held electric mixer or stand mixer beat butter until smooth , add vanilla .
- Slowly add powdered sugar continuing to beat on medium high . Add cream and food coloring until desired color.
- Spread frosting on cooled cookies . Add sprinkles and sugar as desired.
- Cut to 18 squares or desired size.
