This Classic Apple Crisp recipe is delicious. It tastes just like momma used to make. With fresh apples, cinnamon, brown sugar , oats and butter . Perfect served warm with a scoop of ice cream.

    Classic Apple Crisp

It is definitely the season for all things apple . This crisp is one of my favorite desserts , along with Easy Caramel Apple Cheesecake Dip and Easy Caramel Apple Pie Cookies. It is a perfect fall dessert that fills the house with a delicious aroma. I love to eat it warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Don't forget a cup of coffee on the side.

    Classic Apple Crisp

This easy to make Classic Apple Crisp is a perfect dessert to serve at Thanksgiving or to take to a pot luck if someone else is hosting. You will be the hit of the party .

What Type of Apples Should Be Used for the crisp?

Basically whatever apple is your favorite will work fine. Personally I used granny smith and Fugi apples. However, if you are a Red Delicious eater, they will work also.

Could canned Apple Filling be used?

You could definitely use canned filling. It may not be quite as good as when made with fresh apples. Although I'm sure it will still be yummy.

Can the Crisp be made ahead of time?

Yes it definitely could. Be sure to use the lemon juice to keep the apple slices fresh if making it ahead of time. Would probably be best if you put it together and baked at the last minute. The crisp is so good served warm.
