Candy Cane Cupcakes sweet and fluffy cupcakes with a hint of peppermint. They are perfect for the holidays and so easy and fun to make.

I have been having so much fun making holiday treats. Starting with Home Made Christmas Mints and Easy Christmas Fudge. Now on to cupcakes. There are a few fun cupcake recipes that I am excited to be sharing in the next few weeks.
Everyone knows I normally take the easy way out. This was no exception. These cupcakes started with a boxed cake mix. With a little food coloring and peppermint flavoring, they were a snap to throw together.
If you are looking for an easy treat to make with your kids, these Candy Cane Cupcakes are your ticket. It is my plan to make them again when the grandkids are over. They will be so excited, especially my granddaughter, she loves anything pretty and festive.
These cupcakes are also a great treat to take to a Christmas or holiday party or pot luck. You will need a white cake mix, the fixings to make it, buttercream frosting, peppermint extract, and candy canes or peppermint candy.
Are you getting as excited about the holidays as I am? I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. Are you ready? Although in general, I'm a summer person. I love the sunshine, can't get enough of it. My husband grew up in San Diego and we lived there for many years. I'm totally ok with a green Christmas. All that being said, I love the holidays. On Thanksgiving, all of my children, their significant others and my grandchildren will come. Nothing makes gramma happier. That is the kick off of the Christmas Hustle and Bustle.

These look so yummy and pretty! My daughter would have a blast making these.
This looks really cute! I bet they taste amazing. I want to make some for an upcoming party.
Have any suggestions for substitutes of food dye? My boys cannot eat it. Other than that, these look super easy and super yummy! Perfect for Christmas!
maybe juice or fruit -strawberries? although the food coloring is only in the cupcakes themselves, you could leave the cake white and just put the candy canes on top.
These candy cane cupcakes are so pretty and they sound and look absolutely delish!

I had to laugh when you said you like to take the easy way out - that’s me with anything baking! It makes me feel better to know this recipe is nice and simple for the people out there who want to make something yummy that looks this good, but doesn’t have to be a top baker to do it! I’m def going to try this out. So many potluck parties coming up! Thank you!
