Ingredients

  • ¼ Cup Butter
  • Cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1.5 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • 1.5 Cups Powdered Sugar plus more for rolling
  • Food Coloring

Instructions

  • Mix butter and corn syrup together in a small mixing bowl
  • Stir in peppermint or extract of choice
  • Slowly add 2 cups of powdered sugar and mix well
  • Knead until the powdered sugar is well absorbed and smooth -add additional powdered sugar if needed
  • Divide dough into 3 equal parts or however many colors you are using
  • Tint the dough in colors you are using by adding 4-5 drops of food color to the dough. I added green to one, red to one and left the third white. If the dough is sticky knead more powdered sugar into the dough if needed
  • Cut the dough and form 1 inch balls (rolling on hand) roll through additional powdered sugar
  • Place on a parchment paper-lined tray or cookie sheet
  • Flatten gently with a fork
  • Let candies stand for 12-24 hrs uncovered at room temperature
  • Ready to serve - store in an airtight container
